Happy Thanksgiving.

Brian cook ALL the food while the boys and I relaxed.  What a great guy : )

Wow, look at all that food.

Wait, I don't get any of it?!?

They obviously don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Italy, but Brian had the day off since he's technically still an American : )  We had a nice relaxing day and ate way too much.  I think next year we'll go away for the long weekend, but this year it was nice to just spend time together at home.

JJ is very into imaginary play these days.  He loves to play Super Heroes, cars, and "guys" as Krista calls it (playing with the action figures).  He's at the age that some kids get imaginary friends; he doesn't have a friend, but he has imaginary kitty cats!  He makes them a nest, carries them around, feeds them, and puts them to sleep.  It's really cute.  Brian did accidentally sit on them the other day though and got in a lot of trouble for that!  So, on Thanksgiving when we asked JJ what he was thankful for he said, "his kitty cats, Mommy, Daddy, and Owen."  He made me cry : )

3 Months Old.

Owen turned 3-months-old yesterday and it has been a very productive 3 months.  He's gained about 5 pounds and grown about 1/2 a foot!  He recently went through another growth spurt, so it will be interesting to see how big he really is at the doctor's appointment next month.  He's starting to hold on to toys and be more awake during the day, which is fun.  He will only nap while being held though, so that's not as fun.  It's fine on JJ's school days, but harder on days that he's home.  Hopefully he'll grow out of this phase soon.  We can't have 2 kids that don't sleep!

Social Boys.

Owen doesn't really like his swing and we figured out that it's mainly because it puts him too far away from us.  We got out the high chair and he's much happier in there!  He loves to sit at the table now while JJ is playing and just watch him.  Owen definitely always wants to be a part of what's going on.

JJ's school uniform.  Can someone please explain to me why it consists of a white shirt?!  JJ's now has numerous stains on it.  I always want JJ to go to a school that has a uniform though, it's soooo nice to not have to pick out clothes for him in the morning!

So JJ is still really enjoying school these days.  His teacher said that he was incredibly shy for about the first six weeks of school, but now his teacher has informed me that he talks A LOT to his friends!!  He talks about his friends when I pick him up from school and it's really cute : )  His teacher also said that he hated coloring, but he's now doing much better.  They have to color in the lines, so I wouldn't like it either.  He's also speaking more and more Italian every day.  Today when I picked him up, his teacher said something to him in Italian and JJ smiled and laughed.  I felt so left out!  I really need to learn some Italian!

Brothers.

JJ and Owen have been getting along very well lately.  Every time Owen sees or hears JJ he smiles!  JJ's favorite nighttime activity these days is to help give Owen a bath which is really sweet.  I know that  soon enough Owen will be driving JJ crazy, so for now I'm enjoying them getting along : )

Halloween.

This picture isn't from Halloween, but we bought JJ another costume on clearance since he now loves dressing up as a super hero : )

They don't celebrate Halloween here, so this year was definitely different.  We went to a party on base the Friday before Halloween that was a nightmare.  There were waaaaaay to many people there and then most of the candy that JJ got had nuts in it, so he couldn't eat it.  Brian proceeded to throw away the candy in front of JJ which caused a huge meltdown and Brian got annoyed that JJ was crying, but I said "I would cry too if you threw away all my candy"!!!  On Halloween day, they had a party at school since half the school is American.  JJ came home with face paint on which he immediately wanted taken off and wouldn't even let me take a picture : (  It was raining that night, so we didn't go back to base for trick-or-treating.  Learning how to celebrate American holidays here is interesting, maybe we'll get the hang of it before we leave.
