Oktoberfest.

Since Brian's German parents are in town, we took them to Oktoberfest on base on Friday!  It was actually pretty fun and Owen did amazing.  He was awake and enjoyed the music for awhile and then fell asleep.  Not sure how you can sleep through extremely loud polka music, but he did.  Brian and his dad went to Germany for the weekend and went to the "real" Oktoberfest and left me and his mom home with the boys.  Brian now owes me big time  ; )

Brian's mom has been potty training JJ while she's been here and it's going really well.  I guess I owe her big time!  I'm hoping to only be changing one set of diapers by the time she leaves.

More Amalfi Coast.

Owen really enjoyed the coast : )

We went down and stayed on the Amalfi Coast with my parents the last weekend they were here and had a very nice time.  We stayed in a beautiful hotel overlooking Sorrento and went to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and Maiori.  We rented a van so that we didn't have to take two cars and Brian seemed to have a lot of fun driving on the incredibly narrow road on the side of a cliff in the large vehicle!

Pompeii (Again).

I think they blend in as Italians a little more after being here for so long, don't you?!?!

We took my parents to Pompeii their last weekend here and we all had a great time walking around the ruins.  Brian "wore" Owen and they both ended up pretty hot, but Owen didn't seem to mind too much since after eating, he slept the whole time.  JJ had kind of a rough time though because he was wanting to climb and run around and kept falling.  Brian and I keep telling him that he needs new feet because he can't seem to not trip over everything these days!

1 Month Old!

Owen turned 1 month old yesterday.  Where did the time go?!?  He now tops the scales at around 11 pounds and is 22.5 inches.  He's growing faster than the weeds!  My parents left a few days ago and we have about a week until Brian's parents get here.  It was interesting taking care of the boys on my own the last few days.  We are all having to learn some patience.  JJ seems to "need" a lot of things just about the time that Owen needs to eat.  With my parents here, JJ hadn't really been told no or to wait since Owen was born, but yesterday he heard that a lot.  It is definitely a time of adjustment that I'm sure we will all survive.

Preschool.

JJ really wanted to bring his new suitcase from Auntie Rosalee to school.  We told him he did not need to bring that many snacks!

Waiting for the "bus" aka Mom : )

Owen and his chins weren't that excited about JJ going to school

JJ started school last week and he was pretty excited to go.  We started him a couple days a week until all our company leaves and then he will be going three days a week.  Thanks to my mom and her obsessive picture taking, we have lots of pictures of JJ's first day of school!  They take about an hour nap at school, but that's definitely not long enough, so JJ was exhausted the first day.  Hopefully he'll continue to nap for much longer on days that he's not in school.

JJ's Birthday (Part 2).

JJ now thinks he should get a cupcake with a candle in it every night!  This was the day after his birthday.

Owen had a great time at the party : )

Thanks Aunt Krista, Uncle Michael, and Tristan!  This is JJ's favorite present : )

Brian's mom joined us via Skype to watch him open the present from them, a new bike!  JJ loves it!

We had cupcakes and opened presents after JJ's nap and he enjoyed his little party.  This is the first year that he wasn't excited about every present though, he now understands that clothes are not that excited for a little boy to get!

JJ's Three!

I'm 3!

JJ turned 3 yesterday.  Where did the time go?!?!  He really isn't a toddler anymore and is quickly becoming a kid!  We spent the morning going to Cuma and walking around in the ancient Roman ruins.  JJ loves being outdoors and it was a lot cooler for a change, which was great.  As you can see, my dad is now in town too.  It's so fun to have family visiting and JJ loves having extra people to play with!  Tomorrow is the first day of preschool, so he really is growing up.
