The next stop after leaving Germany was Switzerland, where we spent a couple of days. It was definitely cold, but the view was gorgeous. We stayed in a nice little tourist town and one day took a train out to a different town and then took a boat ride back to where we were staying. The boat ride was about 2 hours, which was probably about an hour too long for the boys!
JJ coloring on the train.
Owen enjoyed his second train ride of his life.
The goats across from our hotel. JJ loved them.
Switzerland was nice, but the people weren't super friendly. We have definitely been spoiled here in Italy with everyone saying to JJ and Owen, "caio, bello, bellisimo familia!" Once we crossed over into Southern Switzerland though, the culture actual changed and people called the boys beautiful again : )
We were glad that we went there, but it's definitely not on our list of places we want to go back to. Brian was excited to get a knife though. We also bought the boys knives which we'll give them when they're about 20! Don't tell them we have them ; )

My goodness. That is certainly gorgeous, gorgeous country. Did you learn how to yodel?
ReplyDeleteCute pics! Owen certainly likes trains!
Love, Mom
Wow, you guys went to some amazing places on your road trip! The photos of JJ and Owen are so cute, especially the one of Owen on the train.
ReplyDeleteThe last time we were in Europe, we stayed near Interlaken in Lauterbrunnen for a few nights. It's a beautiful little town, and just a short bus ride away from a gondola that takes you up to the top of the Schilthorn mountain. There's a restaurant on the top whose claim to fame is that a James Bond movie was shot on location there. We also loved hearing the bells around the cows necks as they were grazing in the fields. The one thing that was confusing for us in Switzerland was the Swiss Francs.
